Clocks

In 1932 Dick Russell was commissioned by Garrards Clocks Ltd to design a series of cases - no doubt the firm were aware of Dick Russell`s work for the Murphy Radio Company. Over the next few years 30 cases were designed in a variety of shapes and made in different woods. A number of metal cases were sub-contracted rather than being made in Broadway. In 1935 four clocks were displayed at the British Art in Industry Exhibition, including one in red enamel and another in sycamore on tubular chromed legs. Dick Russell designed the firm`s London showroom.
