Marian Pepler

1904-1997

Trained as an architect at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. Joined Gordon Russell in 1929, subsequently marrying R.D. 'Dick' Russell.

In 1930 attended a course at the London School of Weaving, which led to her becoming a leading and recognised designer of rugs, carpets, curtain fabrics, and upholstery fabrics.

During her career between 1930 and 1962 she designed 200 rugs and carpets for all the well known makers.
