Eden Minns
Trained as an Architect at the Architectural Association School of Architecture at the same time as Dick Russell.
Joined Gordon Russell Ltd. in the thirties working alongside Dick Russell,
collaborating on the design of radio cabinets for Murphy Radio.
On display is a desk designed by Eden Minns in 1930 and made in Indian Rosewood.
He played an early role in Gordon Russell's team set up in 1942 to design and introduce the Utility Furniture Programme. A scheme designed to produce ranges of furniture for those who had lost their homes in the war. The furniture, robust, simple and well made, was required to use a minimum of materials, and to be made by many hundreds of small workshops throughout the land.
Eden Minns returned to Gordon Russell, working as a consultant in the post war years.
