Mahogany

West African Mahogany is a wood of beautiful appearance, and has been valued for many, many years for its cabinet making qualities, whether as solid wood or figured veneers.

Cuban mahogany is generally harder, closer in the grain and heavier than the African species. Its colour is a deep red-brown and with its glossy and satin surface has a most handsome appearance. Many logs of this mahogany produce beautifully marked veneers termed “fiddle back” or “curl”. These veneers are very much valued by cabinet makers and designers.
