Oak

There is no oak comparable with English oak. It stands unchallenged for its strength, and durability. Its use for furniture making goes back in history for centuries. Oak logs, when converted by “quarter sawing” produce wonderful figured solid wood, and veneer. Oak trees also produce “burrs” which when cut into veneer provide “burr veneer” with exceptional figuring.
