Kids Takeover the Museum
Year 5 & 6 pupils from St Mary's RC Primary School took over the Gordon Russell Design Museum on Friday 23 November 2012 as part of the nationwide 'Kids Takeover Day'. Students experienced all aspects of museum work: from welcoming visits on the reception desk and giving them a tour of the collections to carrying out an inventory of the museum's collection of chairs and learning about furniture restoration from the museum's restorer. A good day was had by all with one student exclaiming 'Gordon Rocks'. At some future date we hope that they will return to join the team of volunteers who enable the museum to operate.
